Sponsorship

Every sponsorship directly supports the work of the MCSS. Whether you choose to sponsor a coral, a sea turtle, or a whale shark, your contribution helps fund practical conservation efforts, long-term research, and public awareness that protect Seychelles’ unique marine ecosystems. You can sponsor for yourself or give it as a meaningful gift to someone else.

Sponsor Marine Protection in Seychelles

Sponsor a Coral

By sponsoring a coral, you directly support the restoration of Seychelles’ reefs. MCSS grows corals in underwater nurseries and uses them to help restore damaged reef areas around Mahé. Support can also go towards artificial reef frames, which are populated with coral colonies and placed on degraded reef to create structure, encourage coral growth, support marine life, and contribute to coastal protection.

Restore Seychelles’ Reefs

Your sponsorship helps fund practical coral restoration work, including nursery care, reef rehabilitation, and long-term efforts to strengthen fragile marine habitats. Coral reefs are essential for biodiversity, coastal resilience, and the health of Seychelles’ marine ecosystems, which is why coral rehabilitation remains an important part of MCSS’ wider conservation work.

Sea Turtle Sponsorship

By sponsoring a sea turtle, you support one of Seychelles’ most important long-term conservation priorities. MCSS has worked on sea turtle conservation for more than two decades, combining scientific monitoring, community engagement, and national advocacy to protect endangered species such as hawksbill and green turtles. The sponsorship creates a direct and personal link to this conservation work.

Your sponsorship helps support monitoring, research, and protection efforts linked to turtle populations and their critical habitats. This includes long-term field data collection and broader protection work, including the development and implementation of Seasonal Protected Areas for mobile marine species in Seychelles.

Protect an Iconic Species

Whale Shark Sponsorship

Your sponsorship helps strengthen science-based conservation and public awareness around whale sharks in Seychelles. MCSS’ work has included photo-identification, satellite tagging, boat- and aerial-based surveys, behavioural research, citizen-science sighting records, and the development of the Seychelles whale shark encounter code. This long-term work has contributed to the formal protection of whale sharks in Seychelles and to a better understanding of their movements and habitat use.

By sponsoring a whale shark, you support the conservation of one of the ocean’s most extraordinary and iconic species. Seychelles is recognised as an important hotspot for whale sharks, and MCSS has played a leading role in their research and protection for more than 30 years.
